1. Summer is over – so what?
Don’t complain about summer is over. Just remember that you had a great time spending outside lying in the park, going swimming in the lakes or spending an evening with friends in your favorite beer garden. We are sure you have made lots of selfies for your Facebook account. Just get over it and plan for the next season.

2. Late Summer
September is still late summer, with often beautiful weather. Go and get your last ice cream. Have a picnic with friends in the park.

3. Smell and enjoy
Take a deep breath to get some fresh air. It’s wonderful walking through a forest now and smell the autumn leaves.

4. Wanderlust
The weather in autumn is perfect for a weekend hike. Get your hiking boots out and pack your backpack. Check the outdoors close to your home and maybe there is a national park not too far from you. Just remember when camping, that the nights can already get bid chilly. Just cuddle up!

Last year October we visited the Saxon Switzerland National Park and the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. It’s a great area for a weekend hike with beautiful tours.

5. A local farmers market
Visit a local farmers market and buy fresh vegetables for a soup or a nice stew. It’s great seeing all the bountiful harvest, apples, pears, and pumpkin pilled up.

6. Harvesting
Go visit a fruit farmer outside your city and harvest your own apples or pears. Sometimes these farms also have squeezers to make your own apple juice.

7. Pumpkin
Go and get a pumpkin for a nice pumpkin soup. Or carve your partners funny face into it and lit the inside with candles for your doorstep outside.

8. Sweaters and Jumpers
Go into your wardrobe and get the winter clothes out. You will need your sweaters for nice weekend out in the woods.

9. Chestnuts
We love chestnuts. It’s always a good smell when they roast them on local markets. Get a bag and taste the autumn. Also nice for a good chestnut soup.

10. A Camper Weekend
And last but not least. You are not a summer camper! Plan a weekend in the outdoors. Maybe by a lake or in the woods. You will love sitting with a cup of coffee in front of your van and see the mists over the lakes in the morning. What a great smell.

      1. Completely agree Stefan! And then it cools a little further and the landscape is delicately painted in snow.

Nature walks then are a delight too. With big boots and thermos of cocoa.

I will stay in touch 🙂

  5. Who doesn’t like autumn? I love autumn because it’s like the pinnacle between very hot and very cold days. Plus, the leaves colors are just gorgeous. I love being on my comfortable summer clothes, but I don’t mind putting on layers too. Nice blog look you have here.
